Séis Cheoil – The Sound of Music

Tar éis roinnt mhaith oibre agus ullmhúcháin, léirigh daltaí na scoile an ceoldráma ‘Séis Cheoil – The Sound of Music’ i Halla na Scoile ar an Máirt 1ú agus Céadaoin 2ú Meitheamh 2010. Bhí gach uile dalta sa scoil páirteach sa dráma seo agus ranganna éagsúla ag déanamh a míreanna féin. Bhí atmásfeár draoichtiúil timpeall na scoile ar an dá oíche sin – leis an stáitse maisithe, fuaim agus soilse, gan trácht ar an gceol iontach.

Bhí slua mór i láthair don dá oíche agus moladh thar na bearta acu do gach éinne a d’oibrigh chun an dráma seo a thabhairt chun críche. Beidh cuimhní iontacha go buan ag na daltaí ar an ócáid seo. Oíche d’ár saol gan dabht!

After a huge amount of practice, rehearsal and preparation, the pupils of Gaelscoil Uí Riada performed the musical ‘Séis Cheoil – The Sound of Music’ in Halla an Scoile on Tuesday lst and Wednesday 2nd of June 2010. Every pupil in the school participated and the various classes performed one of the songsfrom the show. As the performances were held in early June, blackout blinds were required and this meant that there was a magical atmosphere in the school for those two nights – with the stage decorated, professional sound and lighting and including the wonderful music which is so familiar to everyone.

A large crowd was present on both nights and there was generous praise for all those who worked to ensure that the show was a great success – following the success of ‘Draídóir Oz’ in 2005 and ‘Oliver’ in 2007.

We will all have many happy memories of this special occasion.
