'Cúl an Tí'- The Ann Beckett Award 2016

Our playground project in school "Cúl an Tí" was shortlisted for the 2016 Ann Beckett Award, organised by the A.O.T.I ( Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland. The project was "highly commended" by the adjudicatoers who visited the school and spoke to parents, teachers and pupils about the project.

The following are some of the comments from the adjudicators report on " Cúl an Tí":

“ … There were many impressive aspects of this project….. The involvement of the children in the design was wonderfully executed.”

” The new play area provides more opportunity for the children to develop social, motor and cognitive skills…..”

” This work was inspiring in that it managed to convince everyone to invest in the project – this included parents, teachers and children. We hope that this valuable and innovative project will certainly go onto inspire other schools to reflect on play provision and opportunities for children.”
